This test consists of questions about a text in a foreign language chosen by the student from: English, German, French, or Spanish. In addition to this part, the general testing includes GCT– a General Competency Test, which assesses logical, analytical, and critical thinking. For some specialties, such as education or information technology, it is also necessary to take UPEE – the Unified Professional Entrance Exam.

The foreign language test consists of 30 tasks, with 1 point awarded for each correct answer. In the first 6 tasks, students must match statements, while in questions 7 to 11, they need to choose 1 correct answer from several options. From points 12 to 30, students must fill in the blanks in texts. In total, all answers are worth 30 points, which are later converted to a 200-point scale.

In 2025, students can register for UEE and UPEE during the main period from May 2 to May 23 inclusive, and during the additional period from June 16 to June 17. Those who register for the main session will receive an invitation by June 12, while those who submit documents later, for the additional session, will receive it by July 26.

Since we are preparing to take the test, the first step is to try solving a test based on previous years’ samples. This way, we can determine the level, identify specifically what was most challenging, what needs to be reviewed or learned, and estimate how much time preparation will take. Sometimes, to be certain, it’s necessary to take several such tests. Some do this independently, though in such cases, it’s quite difficult to pinpoint the reasons for mistakes, and students often don’t know how to start correctly or plan preparation time. Therefore, we recommend seeking help from a specialist with teaching experience, or ideally, with experience in UEE preparation.

Students often neglect clear time management during the test. They spend too long on the first part and rush through the second. Another common issue is inattention, where students miss important details in the text and answer incorrectly, easily getting confused between similar options. A lack of practice is also notable, manifesting as confusion at the start of the exam when expectations don’t match reality. This is why taking mock tests is essential.

Some materials, such as answers or demo versions of tests from previous years, are published on the website of UCEQA – the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment. These can be studied independently. However, for beginners and even experienced applicants, this is often a challenging task that is difficult to accomplish in a short time. Our teachers, who handle preparation, use these materials and combine them with their own developments and methods to create effective, thoroughly researched programs for guaranteed results.
